"Farmer Fred" Burkey and Plant Propagation for the Beginner

On a very warm sunny Saturday, April 14, 2007, University of Florida Extension Agent-MCTV Personality Fred Burkey arrived at Tropical Ranch Botanical Gardens with his trusty Assistant, Pat Bonis, and a full contingency of Martin County Master Gardeners or soon to be Master Gardeners.  They came to share with our 200 visitors that day  a "Farmer Fred"  Power Point Presentation on Propagation and a hands-on demonstration of "How to Propagate your Favorite Plants from Cuttings". At the end of the general presentation, Fred took time to show interested visitors how to prepare to "air layer" and "graft" plants.  As you will see from the photographs below, everyone had a wonderful time.
