West Coast Pinellas County Master Gardeners Visit Tropical Ranch Botanical Gardens
Thursday morning, November 8th, bright and early, our 16 Volunteers lined up waiting to see the bus bringing 47 Pinellas County Master Gardeners for a long-awaited visit to TRBG.

Volunteers and Gail Robertson line up to await the bus.

At long last, the bus is here!

Welcome to TRBG everyone!

Jim Haines, garden owner, welcomes Chuck Scaffidi.

Everyone takes a minute for a group photo.

Jim Haines & Diane Rexroad say a few words about TRBG.

For a group this large, we tried a new technique for us. We had our 16 volunteers scattered around the various Theme Gardens in order to answer the most questions efficiently.

Volunteer Nicky Campbell explains the map of the garden.

On behalf of the Martin County Master Gardeners, Wendy Pattison addresses the tourgroup.

Dr. John Alleyne, Martin County Extension Director, greets his old friends.

Dr. John Alleyne and Pinellas MG, Sandy Huff.

Everyone goes their own way. Carol Raines and Dick Davis head to the Mexican area.

Rodgers Davidson & Donna Zacharczyk wander around.

Jack Moss and Carol Pilsbury explore a new orament in the Garden.

Charles Iserman and Peggy MacDonald investigate plants.

Early arrival, Bruce Robertson, awaits his fellow MGs in comfort.

Barb Orr makes a point with Jim.

Phyllis, a volunteer, talks with Lois Archer and Susan Boughman

Michael Adams and Diane Rexroad shat by the Wedding Gazebo.

Carla Levesque, Angela Strain, Bob Pick a volunteer, and Linda Culhane examine a plant.

Looking at everything, picking out plants to purchase, asking lots of questions and making lists of plants is lots of hard work so.......

Gardeners love to look at plants and we have shadehouse full of them.

Ann Horn, a volunteer, helps Viviane Castoro with her plant selection.

Freda Dexter and Joanne Drake are transplants from Philadelphia suburbs so we chatted a bit.

Peggy Vincent, Susan Boughman, Linda Barrette and Suzanne Girves before entering the shadehouse.

Jim Chase, the friendly bus driver, help Mindy Bickey with plants.

Bessie Morse loves this cassia bush and it look good on her.

Chuck Scaffidi, the money man, waits for lunch to be delivered in a good spot.

Sue Ann Carrigan picks up her lunch and looks for a good spot to eat.

a change of plans dictated that lunch would be served in the Gardens and everyone had a different idea of what would be a good place to have lunch with friends--here are some of the choices.

None of this could have happened if it were not for the wonderful volunteers at TRBG. Most are Martin County Master Gardeners and others are devoted gardeners and friends who come out on a regular basis each week to be sure that the Gardens look perfect for our visitors.  They mark all of the plants for sale and propagate others. Here are some who were in the Gardens that day.
