Foley explains that she learned by experience and research.

Foley had charts and visual to help us understand.

Usually our guests will gravitate to the shade, but not this time. Sun was warming on this cold day.

Foley not "expert" but full of information!

Martin County Master Gardener, Jean Foley, was the speaker at Tropical Ranch Botanical Gardens on Saturday , January 17, giving us loads of information on Bromeliads. Although Foley started her talk with the caveat, "I'm no expert" by the end of her talk there was no one in the audience of close to 80 people who agreed with her. We found out the the first bromeliad imported to this country was the pineapple which most of us do not think of as a bromeliad.

Foley's carefully-prepared talk was well received and she invited the audience to share their knowledge of how these interesting plants grow and prosper in other gardens. All sorts of bromeliads were for sale as is the custom of TRBG when a particular plant is the topic of discussion

Foley is assisted by Terry, an agricultural student from the University of Florida.

Raffle winners, Linda Sugnet and Jerry Rice.

Chuck Sprauer was another happy winner.

Kelly Schott our final raffle winner. Congratulations to all!
